When making garden compost, does it give off any kind of greenhouse gas that could add to the problem?
No, Just beneficial bacteria a few "bad bacteria " do grow but the good guy’s do win.References :
Compost piles are full of wee beasties good and not so good like ‘unit’ said, mainly bacteria and fungi. About the only gas produced is from a poor pile, ammonia, a source of fertilizer but few greenhouse gases. RScottReferences :
